Info

The New Hampshire International Trade Association (NHITA) was established in 1982 by a group of volunteer business people, whose sole mission was to serve private businesses in their international business development. In 1987, NHITA entered a cooperative agreement with the New Hampshire Small Business Development Center (SBDC) resulting in the development of an international resource center at the SBDC headquarters located in Durham, NH. In 1992, NHITA split from the SBDC and became an independent non-profit trade association. In November of 1992, NHITA moved to the International Trade Resource Center in Portsmouth, NH. The ITRC facility houses Federal and State organizations along with NHITA. Since January 1989, when the Association held its first membership campaign, it has included over 250 members. With the revenue raised through membership and fundraising events, NHITA has been able to provide New Hampshire and regional businesses with ongoing export/import educational seminars, informal networking events, state wide workshops, and the acclaimed annual New Hampshire International Trade Association World Expo and Governor's Conference on Trade. In February 2005 NHITA expanded to a satellite office in Amherst in addition to its operations in Portsmouth. An initiative is currently underway to establish local hubs for NHITA activity in each major region of New Hampshire.
