HistoryNovagen, Inc. was founded in June, 1989 as a company dedicated to providing state-of-the-art products and services to scientists in the worldwide biomedical research community. From the beginning, Novagen has focused on developing and commercializing advanced reagents for the isolation, expression, analysis, and purification of genes and their protein products. We are proud to contribute to the efforts of researchers working at universities, in government laboratories, and at biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies around the world in making the discoveries that improve the human condition. In 1998, Novagen was acquired by CN Biosciences, Inc. (CNBI), and joined the other CNBI brands of Calbiochem, Oncogene Research Products, and Novabiochem. On December 27, 1998, CNBI became an affiliate of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. On January 1, 2003, CN Biosciences, Inc. (CNBI) changed its name to EMD Biosciences, Inc. Novagen is located in the University of Wisconsin Research Park in Madison, Wisconsin, USA.
