BioSpecifics Technologies Corp. is a biopharmaceutical company that has been involved in the development of injectable collagenase (XIAFLEX) for multiple indications. The indications are for the treatment of Dupuytren’s disease, Peyronie’s disease and frozen shoulder. The Company has a development and license agreement with Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Auxilium) for XIAFLEX. Under this agreement, BioSpecifics Technologies has granted Auxilium a worldwide license to develop products containing XIAFLEX and the option to develop and license the technology for use in additional indications other than dermal formulations labeled for topical administration, including cellulite and lipomas.
