CEV Multimedia, Ltd., founded in 1984, is on the forefront of innovative multimedia educational materials. With 24 years experience, CEV specializes in providing quality multimedia courses and supplemental educational materials in seven major subject areas: Agricultural Science & Technology, Family & Consumer Sciences, Trade & Industry, Business & Marketing, Career Orientation and Biology. With a library of 1,450 multimedia titles from Child Care to Animal Science, CEV is the largest multimedia producer of Career and Technical Education (CTE) materials nationwide. Through the use of technology and multimedia the same subjects are conveyed in a more dynamic way. Our Multimedia Pathway UnitsÔ (MPUsÔ) are designed to fit any Career Cluster model, aimed at providing students with the focus and preparation needed for successful transition from high school to postsecondary studies and/or future career success. The curriculum features the use of DVDs, PowerPoint® presentations, interactive lesson plans and other multimedia sources. The company's current ambitious production focus is to "bring the world into the classroom" by developing multimedia curriculum to exceed the standards set forth by the state's Career Cluster Initiative. Presently, CEV is developing MPUs Business, Environmental Sciences, Government, Public Safety, Careers, etc. As an MPU#8482 is developed, recognized specialists and educators collaborate with CEV to create high quality and accurate content in efforts to retain the student's interest. Quality and accuracy is ensured by CEV's lasting relationships with more than 60 industry professionals and associations, such as the Hoover Dam and Deere amp, Co., along with more than 20 universities, 50 professors/collaborators and 30 high school teachers. CEV has had a key partnership with the USDA for more than 20 years in addition to on-going partnerships with Texas Tech University, Sam Houston State University and Tarleton State University. Since 2001, 13 to 48 of CEV's curriculum units have been adopted by state education boards in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Idaho, Texas, Georgia and North Carolina. More than 10,000 were implemented in 1,500 Texas classrooms in 2005-07 reaching approximately 235,000 students annually for eight years. CEV will prepare MPUsnstructional materials adoptions over the next three years in efforts to replace antiquated traditional textbooks across all CTE subjects nationwide by 2013. Gordon W. Davis, Ph.D., founder, currently serves as the company Chairman. He started as a high school teacher in 1969 after finishing two B.S. degrees from Washington State University. He was an instructor at Texas Aamp,M University for five years while finishing M.S. and Ph.D. requirements, followed by 13 years as a faculty member at the University of Tennessee and Texas Tech University. Gordon has been widely recognized throughout his 39 year career for education of youth/adults and for business success: university level (Texas A&M University, University of Tennessee, Texas Tech University), government level (USDA, SBA), FFA level (local, state, national) and others. Jeff Lansdell, President, joined CEV after earning two advanced degrees, a M.S. from Texas Tech University in 1993 and a MBA from the University of Phoenix. Lansdell worked in the food/meat industry (Wilson Foods, IBP, Tyson Foods) for nine years in R&D and product management where he was the recipient of the MVP Award for 1995, 1997 and 1999. Lansdell received the Davis Family Award at CEV in 2005 in recognition of his outstanding leadership. With a strong dedication toward providing educational materials, Lansdell, who is a visionary in 21st-century education, enjoys working toward satisfying educators' needs. Other key managers include: Clayton Franklin (Vice President, B.S. from Kansas State University and MBA from Texas Tech University, recipient of CEV's Employee of the Year Award in 2005 and Davis Family Award in 2007) and Dusty Moore (Vice President, B.S. from Texas Tech University, recipient of CEV's Employee of the Year in 2006). The company currently employs 41 employees. Based on product longevity, sales and use, 100 million students and adults worldwide have viewed a CEV Multimedia program. MPUsdistributed through a network of regional managers, 350,000 catalogs printed annually, on-line ordering (www.cevmultimedia.com) and 78 independent dealers.
