Sacred Heart Academy
Info
Sacred Heart Academy is a Catholic girls' high school founded in 1877 by the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville. It is located on the beautiful 48-acre Ursuline Campus on Lexington Road in St. Matthews. New and recently renovated facilities include a spacious Art, Media and Technology Wing, new office and student counseling suites, a renovated chapel, an athletic complex featuring a new gym, 5 tennis courts, field hockey, soccer and softball fields, track and field houses. Sacred Heart limits enrollment in order to allow for low student-to-teacher ratios, and a more personalized education. Sacred Heart Academy is the only Catholic high school in Kentucky to gain acceptance into the International Baccalaureate Organization. The IB program offers students an opportunity to earn a special diploma, college credit, and/or advance placement at many universities. Our cross country, swimming, and track programs have no-cut policies and are available to any student who wishes to participate. Sacred Heart¹s commitment to Catholic Christian values reaches far beyond the classroom. A four-year retreat program strengthens your relationship with God and others, and the service leadership program calls you to put your beliefs into action. Our students have the opportunity to enrich their lives through music, dance or drama in cooperative programs on campus with the Ursuline School for the Performing Arts (USPA). Approximately 99% of Academy graduates go on to higher education. Click here to learn more about what makes SHA an excellent school.
