Platinum Studios is an entertainment company with an active stake in more than 2,000 characters that have appeared in hundreds of millions of comics in 25 languages and in more than 50 countries. According to Lee Nordling, Platinum's executive editor, the company's library is continually expanding through Platinum's comic acquisition and publishing program. Nordling explained, "We've got a tip sheet in our submission kit that shows what we think we have the best chance of setting up. "So that there's no misunderstanding, we're not trying to make movies on paper," he added. "Comics and film are two different media with different strengths and weaknesses of storytelling, but our goal is to acquire and publish comics that we think could be cool movies or TV shows. "We also review previously published comics to consider them for optioning, and we develop concepts internally, in which I work with comics writers and artists to create as comics."
