Info
Since 1985, CTFD - through offices in New York City and Los Angeles - has provided more than 3,500 dancers in 47 U.S. states with 38,000 hours, equivalent to $4 million, of innovative career-counseling, programs and services, and millions of dollars in grants for various levels of education, retraining and entrepreneurial endeavors. Essential to building a productive, satisfying future, these services have enhanced the lives of dancers who are attending or have graduated from an estimated 170 colleges, universities, and specialized certification programs, both here and abroad. While most often serving dancers nearing or after their performing careers, CTFD works with an increasing number of dancers who seek assistance in identifying new careers while they are currently dancing. The following are highlights of some of CTFD's recent achievements ... New York City and Los Angeles: During CTFD's fiscal year 2004, 2005 and 2006, dancers received approximately 2,800 hours of expert guidance - from individual sessions with a career-counselor or by phone via CareerLine, to various group workshops and seminars. CTFD values these services at $308,000, based on a conservative outreach estimate of $110 per hour, reaching out to dancers in more than 47 states nationwide.
