The Company's portfolio includes Abraxane, a protein-based nanoparticle chemotherapeutic compound that is based on its tumor targeting technology known as the nab technology platform. On November 13, 2007, Old Abraxis (referring to Abraxis BioScience, Inc. (formerly American Pharmaceuticals, Inc.) prior to the separation) was separated into two independent publicly-traded companies: one holding the former Abraxis Pharmaceutical Products business, or the hospital-based business, and the Company, which holds the former Abraxis Oncology and Abraxis Research businesses.
