Knowledge-Forge, Inc. is a knowledge products and services company that has evolved from the Institute for On-line Learning (IOL), a consultancy specializing in the areas of knowledge filtering, information flow and cognitive learning. Founded in 1999, IOL developed custom multi-media training and knowledge management solutions for its customers. Drawing on the unique expertise of its founders, several of whom were pioneers in the field of Computer Based Training, IOL was able to deliver solutions that were far superior to other alternatives. The material produced by IOL was much easier to understand, took less time to digest and offered greater retention over time. As a result IOL enjoyed a high degree of success with its customers who were primarily in the healthcare field. It was during the development of these custom deliverables that IOL was able to refine its processes and develop set of internal tools. Those processes and technologies form the core of what is Knowledge-Forge today. IOL employees have also joined Knowledge-Forge bringing with them years of experience in learning psychology, knowledge filtering, instructional design, business consulting and multi-media courseware development. This background allows Knowledge-Forge to offer solutions that are among the most effective available. With a passion for learning technology and a desire to reach a broader set of customers, Knowledge-Forge productized its offerings in January of 2002 and focused its efforts on applying its products and services to solving front line business problems. The company is focused on addressing specific business knowledge issue for complex technology products and for critical processes. As a result Knowledge-Forge is expanding its list of highly satisfied customers to include companies in healthcare services, medical products, services and test and measurement equipment. Knowledge-Forge has added executives from companies such as Agilent Technologies, IBM, Broadvision and Kview to complete the management team and bolster its product development, sales, human resource and business management expertise. Knowledge-Forge is a privately held, partner-funded company and operates debt free.
