MEMRAD Medical Group, Inc. (MEMRAD) was founded in 1974 by William J. Wilson MD. to provide comprehensive clinical radiology services to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, the second largest not-for-profit health care facility west of the Mississippi. Today MEMRAD provides professional radiology services to nine hospitals in Southern California stretching from Orange County to the San Fernando Valley, along with eleven outpatient centers. It employs over seventy Board Certified Radiologists, forty of whom are Shareholders in the corporation. MEMRAD employs Radiologists specializing in Breast Imaging, CT, MRI, Interventional, Neuroradiology, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Pediatrics and PET. MEMRAD has created a working teleradiology system that provides 24-hour diagnostic radiology and subspecialty expertise to its hospital network. The NighthawkTM Service is staffed with Radiologists; this service has become a training ground for future long-term employees of MEMRAD. MEMRAD is committed to the re-engineering of radiology. Our goal is to create efficiencies which will allow us to continue to deliver high quality, compassionate patient care while maintaining our income stream into the next century.
