TBC/Sandy Alexander, Inc: We represent this prestigious firm in digital, sheet fed and web offset printing. They are one of the only firms in the country to be FSC and ISO certified. Recently, Sandy Alexander, Inc. consummated one of the largest purchases of Wind Energy on the East Coast. They now primarily use Wind Energy for their energy needs. Wind Energy is a renewable source of Energy and is oil free. Graphic Paper NY: At Graphic Paper NY, we specialize in 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper that is 100% processed chlorine free. Graphic Paper features text and cover papers in 50-100# text and matching cover weights in flat sheets and web rolls. We carry white and 4 colors in our 100% PCW lines. These papers are certified by The Chlorine Free Products Association to be 100% recycled (all post-consumer), 100% process chlorine free, and are FSC certified. REMEMBER, when choosing recycled papers for your next job, "only" the post-consumer waste content can make a sheet 100% recycled. A grade that is 100% recycled and 50% post-consumer, is only 50% recycled. This is the standard for being recycled, used by the USEPA, since 1998. In the example above, the 100% recycled sheet, with 50% post-consumer waste content, is now just a 50% recycled sheet, as only 50% of the paper used is post-consumer waste. The balance is considered pre-consumer, and that extra 50% is not counted anymore. Pre-consumer waste is paper that has never been printed on, and rarely went to our over crowded landfills. Most of the pre-consumer waste used today is paper that never even left the mills. I also see mills list a lot of their paper grades as 100% recycled, with 30% post-consumer waste. Again, these papers are not 100% recycled. They are simply 30% recycled papers. Their terminology was correct when I started in 1990, but not correct after 1998. The common denominator in the above three companies is that all three companies are environmentally friendly and are leaders in the environmental movement.
