Equilateral is based in Lexington, Massachusetts. Its founders are scientists and engineers who were actively involved in the design, development, and deployment of GRANET (GRAphical Network Engineering Tool), formerly a GTE Laboratories (now Verizon Laboratories) proprietary wireless optimization tool. This core team, which has been working together since 1992, is now in charge of the further development and marketing of GRANET at Equilateral. Our flagship product is GRANET-eQÔ. GRANET has been used with great success by GTE Wireless markets (now part of Verizon Wireless) since 1994. It has been a vital contributor to network designs that resulted in higher quality of service and reduced capital expenditures. GTE recognized these accomplishments through multiple Leslie H. Warner Technical Achievement Awards (GTE's highest award for technical achievement) given to GRANET team members. Our team members have developed key technological advances that have led to several patents in the area of wireless network optimization. They publish extensively in refereed journals, and are visible participants in wireless technology conferences. As an example of their accomplishments, GRANET has been recognized by R&D Magazine as one of the 100 most technologically significant products and processes of the year. In addition, the Penton Engineering Excellence Recognition (PEER) Award for Best Engineering Practices in the World was presented to the GRANET Team by Computer Aided Engineering Magazine.
