Preston-Osborne is a marketing communications and research firm that provides an array of services for clients who require marketing, public relations, opinion research, public affairs management, campaign consulting and creative services. Headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, Preston-Osborne has been in business for more than 30 years, delivering its unique brand of practical consulting to a diverse group of clients, from small-town financial institutions to multinational Fortune 500 corporations. We have a reputation, even among our competitors, for being thorough, focused and results-oriented. The firm, with 12 full-time employees, serves clients throughout the Midwest and Southeast from our home office and a satellite office in Danville, Kentucky. Thomas L. Preston, the company's founder, was a prominent figure in Kentucky politics and considered by many as a top-notch, behind-the-scenes political strategist. In the early days of Preston-Osborne, then known as the Preston Group, campaign management and consulting were at the forefront of the firm's offerings. That experience proved invaluable when Preston shifted the focus of his company from campaigns to corporate public relations. Many of the same principles still applied: instead of marketing candidates, the firm began marketing ideas, concepts, services and products. One of the things that set Preston apart from many of his colleagues was his staunch belief that research should be the cornerstone of any marketing or public relations effort. While some PR firms talked the talk, Preston insisted that research be incorporated into a PR or marketing campaign whenever possible. In 1985, Phil Osborne joined the company. He, too, was a believer in the power of research. Under his guidance, the firm launched an internal research division in 1988 to provide an essential service to its clients. Phil purchased the company in 1997, and since that time, the research arm of the business has grown significantly, and now operates a 20-line call center located in its research division. Clients who work/contract with Preston-Osborne receive the benefit of a firm that understands not only how to conduct research, but also how to apply the research in a meaningful way. The experts within the firm's marketing communications division, often work hand-in-glove with the research division to recommend strategies designed to affect positive change in the marketing or public relations arena.
