American Consulting Engineers was founded in Lexington, Kentucky in 1969 to address the public's growing need for safe and economical transportation infrastructure. Since then, American has established additional offices in Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee, and has delivered work in numerous other states, including Indiana, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. Our talented staff of more than 150 includes civil and structural engineers, environmental specialists, planners, economists, surveyors, technicians and support staff, all dedicated to delivering a superior project to each client-whether it is a department of transportation, metropolitan planning organization, transit agency, toll authority, city, county or airport board-through personal service, a clear understanding of the project's objectives and goals, and meeting the project's schedule and budget. Over the years, American has added new divisions to provide our clients with more specialty services, expanded resources and greater geographic coverage.
