United Bancshares, Inc. (Texas United) is a holding company that provides a range of financial services to customers in Texas through its three bank subsidiaries: State Bank (State Bank), GNB Financial, N.A. (GNB) and Gateway National Bank (Gateway). Its primary market includes the rural and outlying communities of larger metropolitan areas served by its 36 full-service banking centers and 11 limited service branches within 17 counties located primarily between the Austin, Houston and San Antonio metropolitan areas in central and south central Texas and in Cooke, Dallas, Denton and Ellis counties surrounding the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. It provides commercial loans and commercial mortgage loans, and to individuals, including residential mortgage loans and consumer loans. In February 2007, Prosperity Bancshares, Inc. completed its merger with Texas United. Following this merger, the Company's subsidiaries, State Bank, GNB, Gateway and Northwest Bank, merged into Prosperity Bank.
