How do we provide service? Recent regulatory changes enable us to gain access to the individual components of the traditional local telephone network, referred to as the unbundled network element platform. The Federal Communications Commission has mandated that the incumbent local exchange carriers, in our case Verizon, provide competing local telephone companies, such as Lightwave, with the unbundled network element platform components at competitive prices. Access to these network components enables us to provide cost-effective local and long distance telephone services with enhanced features. As our customer, you receive the same quality of service that you have today with Verizon, but now, we are able to bundle your local and long distance service with an entire menu of enhanced calling features to create a custom calling plan just for you.
