Latrobe Country Club is a private club located 40 miles east of Pittsburgh in the scenic Laurel Highlands. The course layout has 18 holes of mostly bent grass tees, fairways and greens. From the championship tees, the 6,500-yard par 72 has a course rating of 73.3 with a slope of 142. The white tees measure 6,100 yards and have a rating of 71.5 with a slope of 139. The club has a large fleet of E-Z-Go golf carts, cart paths, a practice putting green, driving range and fully stocked pro shop. The complex also includes professional tennis courts, heated swimming pool and bathhouse, fully-staffed locker rooms and multiple restaurant, dining and entertainment facilities. In addition, the club offers four deluxe guest houses that are available exclusively for the club's guests. The well-appointed accommodations are fairly typical of most small-town country clubs with one exception-this is the home of Arnold Palmer. To play Latrobe Country Club is to play the very same fairways and greens on which Arnold Palmer learned to play-and still does play-the game of golf.
