Info

The Atomic Testing Museum offers a detailed narrative of the history of nuclear testing in the United States. Some of the major themes include the establishment of the Nevada Test Site, a history of atmospheric and underground testing, societal reactions, including Downwinders, the protest movement, scholarly commentary, peaceful pursuits of nuclear power, and the role of the Nevada Test Site during the current moratorium on nuclear testing. Our galleries convey information using a variety of methods such as videos, information boards, interactive computers, and artifact displays. We are confident that every student will have an opportunity to explore some aspect of the museum, and each will complete their visit with new knowledge and insight about nuclear testing. We look forward to your visit, and wish to make it as smooth and enjoyable as possible. The 1 to 1 ½ hour school field trip experience includes a classroom teacher guided tour of the museum and the Ground Zero Theater. Thank you for your interest in the Atomic Testing Museum. We are confident that our organization will provide an interesting and educational experience for you and your students. This section is provided to familiarize you with our museum and to offer assistance as you prepare for your visit. View information on booking your field trip here.
