Since 1982, Rivers has been providing family fun for folks of all ages, but many people still do not realize that a whitewater rafting trip can be a wonderful vacation for the entire family. The fact that we have access to easier sections of the New River means that we can accommodate the young as well as the "young at heart." It is not unusual for us to have three generations together on one of our family float trips. The kids love their introduction to whitewater while adults and seniors can revel in the tranquil beauty of the river. From six to ninety-six, Rivers Family Fun Float Trips have something for everyone. This year we have new equipment and packages designed to provide even more fun for adults and kids alike. For families, youth groups and scout troops, we will again offer "Sit-on-Top" kayaks incorporated into our existing programs on the Upper New River. The sit-on-top kayaks are similar to the ones you see paddled by our video boaters, except you sit "on" not "in" the kayak. They are more stable and easier for the beginner and the best part is you do not need to know how to "roll" to paddle one. So if you are looking for a unique outing to share with your family, Rivers is the place to go! The Ducky (inflatable kayak) offers a unique whitewater adventure for the novice and the experienced paddler. The ducky offers the stability of a raft and maneuverability of a kayak.
