IR Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1935 to serve the government employees of the Internal Revenue Service in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. For seventy years IR Federal Credit Union has faithfully served federal government professionals. Our scope of membership was broadened in May 2005. We were granted a new TIP (Trade, Industry or Profession) Charter, serving:All federal government civil industry employees in the Washington, D.C.-Baltimore-Philadelphia Metropolitan area, Members of their families or household, and Persons retired as pensioners or annuitants from the above employment. At present IRFCU has over $200 million in assets and we serve over 28,000 members and their families - worldwide.
