Shoshone Information Technology Company
Info
The Shoshone Information Technology Company, Inc. is a data management company and IT service provider owned and operated by the Eastern Shoshone Indian Tribe located on the Wind River Indian Reservation in Wyoming. The company began operations in January of 2002, and has since completed several graphic conversion projects for the U. S. Department of Defense in partnership with Dimension 4 , a private firm located in Seattle, Washington. The Eastern Shoshone Tribe has been developing Information Technology capabilities for the past ten years; particularly IT infrastructure and staff capacity to do IT work through various training programs. In the spring of 2001, the Tribe decided to utilize these capabilities to start Shoshone Information Technology Company, Inc. ("SITCO"), a for-profit company that provides commercial information technology services to the public and private sectors. The company was awarded SBA 8(a) certification in January of 2003 and is HUBZone certified. SITCO has access to reliable high speed Internet service provided by Bresnan.net, which it uses to receive, process, and transmit data to points around the globe. The company has access to a large and flexible labor pool and is committed to being the employer of choice for tribal members and the community as a whole. Currently SITCO employs 23 Native and non-Native people at its Lander facility, but can tackle large jobs with its private partners and/or eleven partner tribes that work together under the Intertribal Information Technology Company (IITC) consortium. With a commitment to excellence and a focus on client satisfaction, SITCO is poised and ready to provide data management solutions and IT services to the Rocky Mountain region and beyond.
