Susquehanna Bank, headquartered in Marlton, NJ, is a $2.9 billion wholly owned subsidiary of Susquehanna Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ:SUSQ), which has assets of more than $8 billion. Susquehanna Bank operates 51 retail branches throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The EconomicsPennsylvania program implementation is accomplished through staff development for teachers, curriculum specialists and students. Workshops and on-site consultations assist schools in developing an effective, hands-on and high interest economic and financial literacy plan that meets the Pennsylvania Department of Education Standards in Economics. From 2002 through 2006 more than 400 of the 501 Pennsylvania school districts and 145 nonpublic schools have incorporated EconomicsPennsylvania programs within their classrooms. Of those, 44 percent implemented money management programs, 31 percent focused on teaching economic concepts across their curriculum and 25 percent have utilized entrepreneurship and/or career exploration materials.
