Roxey Ballet is dedicated to bringing the world of dance to as many people as possible. In addition to providing educational programs designed to inform and broaden the public's understanding of ballet and the importance of dance as an art and means of expression, Roxey Ballet is increasing its efforts to expand its outreach to area groups and organizations that ordinarily would not have the opportunity to experience this tremendous resource. Roxey Ballet is currently involved in educational programs in individual classrooms,dance schools, churches and community centers, in addition to full company performances in schools throughout the region special programs for children at risk, and a Wheels in Motion program that brings dance to the disabled. Roxey Ballet donates over 500 tickets to its performances each year. Recipient area non-profit organizations, including Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Mercer County, the Union Industrial Home in Trenton, Ken-Crest Services of Bucks County, Girard College and more than 15 area churches and community centers were able to treat their folks to a magical afternoon. Roxey Ballet is expanding this outreach in two ways. The first is that we would like to extend this invitation to any non-profit group or organization that would find this unusual opportunity an exciting and valuable way to expand the experiences of their participants (a financial need must be present). Secondly, we are looking for individuals or businesses willing to help us underwrite the costs of some of these outreach programs. Along with the privilege of providing this opportunity come the challenges of supporting the cost of our productions.
