In the 1970's, Citrus and Chemical Bank was becoming a major force in the Bartow community and needed more room for the expanding staff and bank services. A 47,000 square foot, three-story building was constructed. A significant landmark, the bank serves as a gathering point for community meetings and houses the Central Florida Development Council. C&C felt the need to expand to other locations to better serve all of Polk County. In 1983, Citrus and Chemical Bank entered the Lakeland market. In addition to the Bartow office, C&C now has four locations in Lakeland, two offices in Winter Haven and a Fort Meade office.
