Aircoastal Helicopters is a full service helicopter company. We provide Executive Charter, Aircraft Management. Full-time Pilot Training Services are also provided by our sister company Palm Beach Helicopters, all fully certified by the Federal AviationAdministration. We also provide on staff maintenance personnel. Aircoastal was founded by our president, Mr. Boyce D. Crowe Jr. in 1981. At that time, Mr. Crowe was a pilot with the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Aviation Division. From February 1985 thru June 1989, Aircoastal was under contract with Humana Lucerne Hospital to provide inter-hospital transfers within a 150 mile radius of Orlando. During that period, Aircoastal transported more than 3000 patients averaging some 700 hours of flight time per year maintaining a 98.4% mission ready status. Aircoastal is presently contracted with a local television news station, WPEC TV12 , to provide a full-time helicopter and crew for the purpose of Electronic News Gathering. This contract began in April of 1990 and we recently re-signed a multi-year contract reflecting Aircoastals dedication to service. Aircoastal presently operates 6 aircraft full-time at the Lantana Airport. Our pilots have been awarded Bell Safety Awards for over 20,000 hours of Accident Free flight. Our facility contains over 15,000 square feet of workspace with a pilot briefing area capable of up to the minute radar ensuring each pilot and flight crew of all current flight conditions. At Aircoastal, we strive to maintain only the highest operational standards at all times. These standards are evident by the awards received by Aircoastal over the past few years. These include the 1983 - 1988 Golden Hour Award for safe Aeromedical operations, Operator Safety Awards from the Helicopter Association International along with the Bell Safety Awards issued to our pilots for the thousands of accident free flight hours accumulated staffwide.
