Women's & Children's Hospital is dedicated to the prevention and early detection of breast cancer. Our Breast Health Center is now named for our very first patient coordinator, Elaine Marie Junca, R.N. After five years of working tirelessly with others in their fight with breast cancer, she succumbed to the disease she had helped so many overcome. Her story is a source of inspiration for the Center and staff, not just in her dedication to the patients but also in the dignity in which she herself fought the disease. In her memory, the Elaine M. Junca Breast Center aspires to be the premier breast health center of Acadiana, offering not only education and testing, but also a caring support staff that will put your mind at ease and let you focus on your health.
