Universal Telecom was founded in February 1999 with a staff of three people. We added a sales force in the spring of that year that dominated the South East in acquiring Retail Agents to sell our service. From the start we were able to resell Sprint, Verizon and BellSouth services which opened up a broad range of states in which to conduct business. At the end of the year, we employed 20 people and were well on our way. By the beginning of the year 2000, we were able to resell services for companies such as AllTel, CenturyTel and Citizens Communications. This ability to resell the services of other midsize companies created a niche for Universal Telecom which we maintain today. February, 2001 saw a vast increase in sales with 6500 access lines. Also, we began reselling Southwestern Bell in Missouri and Arkansas and the services of Nevada Bell in the state of Nevada. Throughout 2001, Universal Telecom maintained steady growth. A frenzy of advertising campaigns boosted the awareness of Universal Telecom and its product in the city of Louisville, Kentucky. Sales have increased in this area with plans to introduce the campaign to other cities in the South East. We ended the year strong with a bright outlook on 2002. The year of 2002 started off with a bang. By the end of the first quarter, we had added an additional 3,000 access lines. We acquired the states of Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas and our expansion continues in states such as Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.
