Edgewood Valley Country Club
Golf course
Info
Edgewood Valley Country Club is truly one of the finest places in the Chicago area to play golf and enjoy the amenities associated with a private club. EVCC was founded in 1910 in La Grange, IL and moved to its current location in 1926. William Diddle, a very well known course designer during this era, designed the golf course. Significant efforts have been made over the years to maintain the unique design features he originally installed. We are currently in a three-year renovation project that entails remodeling the entire club and adding on two rooms and a lower-level fitness center. The other phases will concentrate on the driving range, reconstruction of the putting clock and first tee, and upgrades to the Pro Shop and Tennis facilities. The Edgewood Valley social calendar is full of events for adults, children and families. Some of our major events include a 4th of July celebration that over 1,000 people attend, an Adult Summer Party, a Wine-at-Wholesale Night, a Halloween Party and special candlelight dinners around Christmas. We host over twenty-five unique events annually for our members to enjoy. At Edgewood Valley Country Club, we take great pride in our outstanding 18-hole golf course. We are constantly grooming and maintaining the course to provide the best golfing experience possible. Edgewood Valley Country Club is a member to the following professional associations: the United States Golf Association, the Western Golf Association, and the Chicago District Golf Association. The golf course renovation project in 2006 lengthened the course and raised the total number of bunkers to 104. The course plays longer than its yardage due to the well-bunkered and narrow fairways that wind through the tall oak trees on our course. For example, hole three is a short par-4 but features a severe dogleg. It requires an incredibly accurate tee shot to have any chance of hitting this green. While long-hitters may have an opportunity to drive the ball over bunkers and around some of the doglegs, the key to success at Edgewood Valley lies in the greens. Placing your approach shot on the correct side of each hole and staying below the pin is the only way to succeed on our small and fast greens. 2010 will mark the Centennial Anniversary of the Edgewood Valley Country Club, and a specially formed committee is already planning events for our Centennial Celebration! All of our members and their guests will be invited to participate in special events as we celebrate one hundred years of first-class golfing, swimming, tennis, and social gatherings at Edgewood Valley Country Club! We look forward to seeing you at Edgewood valley Country Club!
