Info

WalzCraft is committed to using our wood resources wisely. We start with our own lumber specifications to ensure that the material we are buying is best suited to our manufacturing guidelines. This helps to avoid excess waste being generated in our plant. We constantly strive to get the most usable lumber from each board we process. Our rough mill operation uses a computerized rip saw featuring five movable saw blades to maximize rip yield. Our ripped stock is then chopped on state-of-the-art optimizing chop saws. Our equipment, customized exclusively for WalzCraft, helps us maximize our lumber yield and control the cost of our finished product while conserving our hardwood forests. Various "waste" products generated in our manufacturing process are sold to end users or are recycled: Wood strips from our ripping operation and end trim from our chopping operations are ground into wood chips and sold to Xcel Energy for use as fuel to be mixed and burned with garbage to generate electricity. Fine sawdust from our dust collector is sold to farmers for use as animal bedding. Cardboard is baled and recycled. WalzCraft is proud of the fact that 100% of every board we purchase has a productive use. We do not send any wood or MDF scraps to a landfill.
