518 Pine Tree Cir, 76244 Fort WorthNTCFD prides itself on providing our community with an extensive array of skilled and professional responders. We are the first step for aspiring firefighters as they begin their journey in the emergency services industry. Through membership in NTCFD, a new recruit is subjected to an extensive array of training programming prior to responding in an active role on a dispatched emergency call. This training program can last as long as 6 months depending on the entry skill level of the recruit. Once this initial training is completed and the recruit has demonstrated competence in the training objectives, NTCFD provides an even broader venue of advanced training opportunities that can be taken advantage of. Initially, a development program is formulated with specific achievement goal steps. As the recruit progresses through the training program, he/she naturally develops a specialty goal plan be it hazardous materials response skills, confined space rescue, urban search and rescue training, etc. NTCFD gears its advanced training program in a manner which will provide the appropriate training venues through which these goal plans can be achieved. The fire service and emergency services industry has changed. No longer is a fire department called to respond only to fires or EMS calls. We are now being encouraged to prepare for and train to respond to the ever-growing threat to our national security from weaponry and terrorism. For 15 years NTCFD has provided the first response to emergency needs in our 911 service district. In that respect, we should be required to familiarize ourselves with these threats and the appropriate methodology to respond to these threats. NTCFD began preparing its members in 2005 by partnering with The Department of Homeland Security and its Training Consortium. Through travel to Anniston Alabama to train at the Center for Domestic Preparedness; travel to Socorro New Mexico to train with New Mexico Tech's ERTBI teams in response to energetic materials and bombs; and other specialized training programs, NTCFD works to support our mission to be a comprehensive response agency. NTCFD is a member agency of the National Safety Council, The National Fire Protection Association, Disaster Management Interoperability Services, The National Volunteer Fire Council, the State Firemen and Fire Marshal's Association of Texas, and the Tarrant County Firefighters Association. NTCFD is a NIMS Compliant Agency as well as being voluntarily regulated by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.
