VRSchoolhouse is a solutions provider of K-12 teacher and administrative tools, online courses and educational resources. Our mission is to help K-12 stakeholders facilitate data driven decision-making that promotes and documents continuous student achievement. We will accomplish our mission by: Offering products and services that support school improvement by integrating the components of educational management; e.g., development of standards-based curriculum and instruction, tracking of student performance and progress, reporting results for individuals and groups of students, and using all captured data to evaluate and improve curriculum effectiveness. Providing products and services that support local decision-making, meet needs for internal and external accountability, and support the creativity of K-12 teachers rather than locking them into a product-driven process. Our product line includes web and network based integrated curriculum and instructional management software, home-to-school communication portals and high quality online courses for all K-12 grade levels. Additionally, we have worked with service centers, state departments of education, and non-profit school improvement organizations to design effective tools to assist educators. Our services include project management, training, and support for our entire product line. In addition we offer custom software development services and consulting services related to curriculum alignment, instructional techniques, instructional technology, and strategic planning. In working with hundreds of schools we have seen that the implementation of a process for standards-focused instruction and assessment is a complex task. Invariably, the process reflects enormous change from long-established teaching, testing, and reporting practices. The implications for curriculum design, staff development, parent-teacher communication, and student record keeping are significant and need to be handled in manageable steps based on a multi-year strategic plan. Often districts feel that implementation of an electronic management system must be put on hold until these issues are resolved and the plan is fully defined. The experiences of our school district partners indicate that adopting LearningTracker allows them to build the technical infrastructure necessary to manage their change process. Furthermore, implementation of an electronic management system forces process decisions not required under a less formal approach, and actually serves to move the district plan along more quickly. VRSchoolhouse provides project management service by education professionals that integrate the implementation of the software meaningfully and effectively into the total strategic plan. Our products and services are used daily in 106 schools in 6 states. VRSchoolhouse, founded in 2000 with headquarters in Joplin, Missouri, is a privately held company owned by Dr. Randy McDaniel, a twenty-year educator, and Gary Hall, a Galena, Kansas based businessman. In June 2001, VRSchoolhouse acquired the assets of Norris Education Innovations, Inc., including the development, marketing and support rights to UnitMaker® (renamed LearningTracker) and Students1st.com.
