We are a manufacturer of railroad freight cars, with particular expertise in coal-carrying railcars. In addition to coal cars, FreightCar America designs and builds flat cars, mill gondola cars, intermodal cars, coil steel cars and motor vehicle carriers. We are the leading manufacturer of aluminum railcars in North America, based on the number of railcars delivered. We specialize in the production of aluminum-bodied coal-carrying railcars. We also produce a variety of steel-bodied railcars. We also refurbish and rebuild railcars and sell forged, cast and fabricated service parts for all of the railcars we produce, as well as those manufactured by others.
