Jamestown Regional Medical Center, formerly Fentress County General Hospital, opened its doors on March 1, 1960 with 39 patient beds. The hospital has grown significantly since those early days. The most extensive growth came after Health Management Associates, Inc. (NYSE:HMA) acquired Fentress County General Hospital and began operating the facility as Jamestown Regional Medical Center in January 2002.
