Trinity Biotech plc (Trinity Biotech) develops, acquires, manufactures and markets medical diagnostic products for the clinical laboratory and point-of-care (POC) segments of the diagnostic market. These products are used to detect autoimmune, infectious and sexually transmitted diseases, diabetes and disorders of the blood, liver and intestine. The Company is also a provider of raw materials to the life sciences industry. The Company has manufacturing facilities in Bray, Ireland, Umea, Sweden and Lemgo, Germany, in Europe and in Jamestown, New York, Carlsbad, California and Kansas City, Missouri in the United States. In September 2007, the Group acquired the immuno-technology business of Cortex Biochem Inc (Cortex). In October 2007, the Company acquired certain components of the distribution business of Sterilab Services UK (Sterilab), a distributor of Infectious Diseases products.
