Portus established operations in 1992 at the Port of Jacksonville's Blount Island Terminals. Since then, Portus has grown in size and strengthened its expertise, and has become an industry leader, focused on providing unparalleled service to container lines, heavy lift carriers, and the US military. The company began operations with a 2-acre parcel of land and today Portus operates on more land than any other stevedore at the Port of Jacksonville. Portus leverages more than a century of aggregate management experience in maritime and other transportation segments in providing first class services to its clients. Portus was acquired in March 2009 by Steel River Infrastructure Partners.
