MCCI USB technology starts with industry standards. Standards-based products are easier for our customers to use, to support, and to sell to their channel. MCCI staff helped to develop the USB specification, and have continued to contribute by chairing the USB Device Working Group (which develops USB standards for devices) and the Communication Device Class Committee (which develops USB standards for cell phones, networking devices, and other telecommunications devices). MCCI products support single-function and multi-function phones, for all major wireless networks technologies and multi-media technologies, including Internet access (via modem emulation and LAN emulation); data exchange and synchronization using OBEX, AT Command Ports, Diagnostic Port, Mass Storage, EMMI, and proprietary approaches; network and handset status monitoring via Device Management ports; firmware update using USB DFU; direct image printing using PictBridge, and media transfer using MTP. MCCI PortLynq technology further simplifies application migration by hiding the plug-and-play aspects of USB from Windows applications, simplifying the migration of existing serial-port-based manufacturing and management applications to USB. Development drivers and applications allow handset developers to use USB's high speed for tracing and automatic test of embedded applications. Device installation and uninstallation on Windows is handled by MCCI InstallRight Pro, which reduces user interaction to a minimum. MCCI's numerous industry partnerships ensure that our products integrate seamlessly with offerings from cell-phone platform vendors such as LSI, EMP, NXP, Qualcomm and ADI. As one of the six test labs certified by USB-IF, MCCI can quickly and authoritatively test devices for USB logo certification. Our test lab also lets us perform WHQL testing for our customers.
