Sunset Films International is an independent producer of feature films, profiles and documentaries with an emphasis on aspects of West Indian & African life: cultural; political; historical; inter-personal. Headquartered in the Greater Washington, D.C. area, Sunset Films International was founded by Njai BaNikongo whose vision it was to produce films in America about West Indians and Africans. As producer/director, Njai BaNikongo has assembled a stellar team of technical and creative associates. Sunset Films International believes that a movie paints a picture of a community for the outside world and fashions the way outsiders view that community. Films produced by Sunset Films International are renowned for telling a story from the vantage point of the peoples of the West Indies and Africa and noted for moving Africa and the West Indies away from simply being locations for exotic shooting to being the central storyline in every production. Every production is assured of the personal approval of Njai BaNikongo to ensure that the final product comports with his vision of uplifting the community which Sunset Films International wishes to serve. Mr. BaNikongo brings a wealth of learning and experience to that objective through a significant amount of formal and informal education as well as a considerable amount of writing and lecturing on African and West Indian themes.
