Stratus Environmental, Inc. (Stratus) is an environmental consulting company that was developed out of the need to provide improved service and commitment to the underground storage tank (UST) client at very competitive pricing. Stratus focuses on and specializes in the investigation, assessment, and remediation of petroleum hydrocarbon impacts to soil and groundwater. Our team of engineers and geologists have provided a full range of investigation and remediation services to the petrochemical industry, from major oil companies to independent UST operators. Our clients include public agencies, Fortune 500 corporations, major oil companies, land development companies, and small business. Though the organization is new, the professional staff that comprise the company have numerous years of experience (average per person is approximately 11 years) in the environmental business with emphasis in the UST industry. Registered geologist and engineers of Stratus draw upon a broad range of experience obtained from managing collectively over 100 UST projects at service stations, tank farms, bulk terminals, transportation and maintenance yards, and other industrial facilities impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons, including oxygenates such as methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE). Many of these sites required soil and/or groundwater remediation which have ranged from air sparging and vapor extraction to groundwater pump and treat and insitu bioremediation. With the regulatory environment again returning to a more conservative position on fueling systems, due to water quality concerns regarding MTBE and other fuel additives, it is imperative to have a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework and requirements. Stratus emphasizes on regulatory compliance and tracking of new legislature and regulation issues. Our managers are experienced with all federal and state regulatory requirements, including the state fund reimbursement program. Our experience in negotiating with regulatory agencies have assisted in the elimination of unnecessary monitoring costs, helped develop reasonable cleanup goals, improved the effectiveness of the cleanup technologies, and accelerated the cleanup and closure process. Stratus provides a full range of services to our clients. By teaming with selected and proven environmental companies, Stratus has been able to draw upon vast resources which enables us to broaden our geographic coverage and allow us to obtain specialized professional capabilities in specific disciplines, again to better serve our client's needs.
