Vietnamese Culture & Science Association

Based in Houston, Texas, VCSA was founded in 1990. It has chapters in Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, Memphis, San Diego, Washington DC and Toronto, Canada, with members throughout the US and Canada. VCSA promotes excellence in education, leadership and skills development through culture and science. Our organization encourages multi-generational and cross-cultural collaborations. We foster civic participation in the mainstream and Vietnamese America. To encourage the younger generations of Vietnamese-Americans to excel in education, VCSA formally recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of Vietnamese-American high school students from Houston and Vicinity who graduate as valedictorian or salutatorian of their respective class. This year, there is a record number of 30 honorees who graduated from 25 different schools, including 19 valedictorians: Michael Dinh Cao, Tam Ha, Christopher Huynh, Khoa Khuong, Andrew Le, Nancy Mai, Chau Nguyen, Kathleen Nguyen, Monica Nguyen, Quang Nguyen, Reagan Nguyen, Tuan Nguyen, Angelina Tran, Jimmy Tran, Mai Tram Tran, Tram Tran, Huong Van, Khoi Vu, Tri Chiem and 11 salutatorians: Linda Dao, Rebecca Le, Anna Nguyen, Eric Nguyen, Huong Nguyen, Lily Nguyen, Raisa Nguyen, Tran Misa Nguyen, Christine Tran, Quynh Thanh Tran and Loc Uyen Nguyen Vo. In addition to the Recognition Program, there will be the celebration of the 10th anniversary of this recognition program and the Vera Tran and other Award presentations, and cultural performances featuring beautiful Vietnamese traditions.
