Data Strategies International, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Dr. Giancarlo Gaggero in Austin, Texas. During the 90s, the company developed software products for the integration of high capacity storage devices into data acquisition, archiving, backup, media testing and media conversion applications. Data Strategies won itself a place at the forefront of the data storage technology by establishing effective forms of cooperation with major storage device manufactures as well as by developing innovative products to meet the requirements of advanced and sophisticated users (Caltech-JPL, Lockheed MSC, Merrill Lynch, NASA, NOAA, USGS, etc.). The company is a leader in the area of systems for media analysis and certification, data recovery, and media management. Many of our products including the MediaGenie family (Initiator, Certifier, Replicator, Sanitizer, and Doctor) are used or marketed by several companies. Data Strategies developed the technology and the tools used by the Media Services Division of StorageTek to perform media conversion and data migration services for over ten years. This technology, characterized by a unique off-line approach to data migration, combined with years of experience in performing large-scale conversion projects, is the foundation of the broad spectrum of services Data Strategies offers today.
