Timberland Bancorp, Inc. was established for the purpose of becoming the holding company for Timberland Savings Bank, SSB (Bank). The Company's business activities generally are limited to passive investment activities and oversight of its investment in the Bank. The Bank is a community-oriented bank, which offers a variety of savings products to its retail customers, while concentrating its lending activities on real estate mortgage loans. Lending activities have been focused primarily on the origination of loans secured by real estate, including an emphasis on construction and land development loans, one to four-family residential loans, multi-family loans, commercial real estate loans and land loans. The Bank originates adjustable-rate residential mortgage loans that do not qualify for sale in the secondary market under Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation guidelines. The Bank considers Grays Harbor, Thurston, Pierce, King, Kitsap and Lewis Counties as its primary market areas.(Source: 10-K)
