It was formed as a partnership between Dann and Que-Lan Engels of Holland, Michigan and Jeffrey Liker of Ann Arbor, Michigan. Optiprise is an S-Corporation. Jeffrey Liker, Ph.D., Principal of Optiprise, is Professor of Industrial and Operations Engineering at the University of Michigan where he advises students and conducts research on new frontiers in lean management. His publications on The Toyota Way (2004) and related books have been endorsed by Toyota as the best external translation of their philosophy and principles to the outside world. He is globally sought out as a keynote speaker and executive advisor on learning from the Toyota Way.
