Thunder Bay Community Health Service, Inc. (TBCHS) has provided full complement of primary, preventive and supplemental health services to residents of Northeastern Lower Michigan's Montmorency, Western Alpena and Presque Isle Counties since it's incorporation as a 501(c) 3 organization in 1981. In 2007 we are celebrating our 25th year of service since seeing the first patient. Today, Thunder Bay Community Health Service, Inc. (TBCHS) four year-round health centers provide services to over 9,500 patients a year in Montmorency, Presque Isle, Western Alpena Counties and their surrounding areas. A staff of over 75 employees provide family practice services; dental services; immunizations; pharmacy services; preventative health care; family planning services; obstetrics and gynecology services (shared care); lab services; x-rays; counseling and therapy; acute care; HIV/AIDS counseling and testing; occupational medicine: outreach services; and health education; at times that are convenient for the patients, and in languages the patients can understand. Thunder Bay Community Health Service, Inc. is accredited by "The Joint Commission", and receives partial funding through the Department of Health and Human Services. Over the years, TBCHS has collaborated with many local agencies in the public and private sectors. We have provided nursing within local schools, participated in grants with District Health Dept. #4, and assisted with the grandparent and senior companion programs to name just a few.
