During World War II, DRS Marlo Coil was the manufacturer selected to provide the United States Navy with their shipboard air conditioning equipment. DRS Marlo Coil's reputation with the Navy continued on after the war, supplying both combatant and non-combatant vessels. In the early 1960's, nuclear power became popular. Nuclear power plants had very specialized requirements and needed a supplier of industrial custom engineered equipment with a proven track record. DRS Marlo Coil was selected and provided equipment for safety related systems throughout various plants.
