Floris is a United Methodist congregation which emphasizes growing in relationship to Christ and responding to the needs around us. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ and to reflect God's kingdom. We want Christ to be at the center of our lives and the church at the center of our community. Because people experience God in many ways, we offer varying styles of worship. At Floris we are committed to worship that is relevant, inspirational and God honoring. We offer three Sunday morning traditional/blended services, a service for Spanish speakers and a Sunday evening contemporary service. We have a wide variety of musical offerings including adult and children's choirs, handbells and a praise band. Whether you are a first time guest or a long time member, we believe you have something to offer. At Floris we believe that everyone has gifts and passions given to them by God and designed to be used to serve others and give glory to God. We offer opportunities with varying degrees of time, from as little as an hour to as much as 2 hours every week. We love our children and youth and believe that a life long faith begins with firm foundations. We offer Sunday School for all ages beginning at 2 years old. We also host numerous mid week opportunities where children can come together in service, fellowship and study. Community is important at Floris and we believe real community is found in relationships. We also believe that relationships develop best when there is an intentional commitment of time and energy. We offer adult small group bible studies every day of the week so that there are plenty of opportunities to build community. Floris members over the decades have reached out to others offering programs and ministries that have blessed the lives of local residents, displayed compassion to those in need and met real needs in the community. We are active locally, nationally and globally. We have reached out to the local community through our support of the immigrant community, Floris Neighbors, our immigration clinic, our English as Second Language classes, our partnership with Hutchison Elementary and our food and clothing ministry, Grace Ministry. We've reached out nationally through our commitment to send mission teams to the Gulf Coast in response to Hurricane Katrina. And we are active through our support of the Child Rescue Centre in Sierra Leone, Africa. With each new outreach activity, Floris offers our members ever growing opportunities to serve Christ by serving others.
