TOTLEYS INTERNET CAFE is owned by TOTLEYS, Inc., a registered New York C corporation created in 1999. Our company is an African American female owned business and Rose Davis is our CEO and founder. Our company mission has been centered on addressing the digital divide that exists in urban minority neighborhoods from its early beginning. TOTLEYS was originally created to offer computer leasing and sales services to residential customers within the urban minority community. Over a period of time, we recognized that placing computer hardware, within the community, without combining training and assistance was not effectively creating the financial and programmatic results we expected. Therefore, during fiscal year 2002, we changed our business operation model from a product-based business to a computer technology services model. We began the process of planning and developing a computer technology center packaged as an Internet Café. Our company selected the Village of Hempstead as the first location to establish an Internet Café due its diversely cultural and urban population. Our Café provides Internet access, computer rentals, computer training courses, high tech tutoring services to children in grades 4 through 12 and other empowering services to the general public in a quality, convenient and wholesome environment. We equipped our Café with 15 Pentium IV computers, CD burners, web cams, high speed Internet access, educational and career training software applications and lots of interactive games. We created a variety of specialty programs, which:· Enhance and develop moderate and advance computer skills in our service market· Create a bridge between public/& private sector for high tech research· Facilitate the creation and commercialization of new high tech innovative commercial applications and products. Our business model combines training, recreation, and relaxation and fun foods to create an enjoyable environment for young and old. In addition, we offer an experienced staff to guide you through the huge information highway and teach you within minutes how to find your way through its unending paths.
