CTL staff has provided cost effective solutions to educational institutions since 1990. Solutions focus on providing an empowering career readiness curriculum and cost effective student materials to assist schools and colleges increase employment outcomes and aid students make a successful transition to the workplace. Our most successful product is a comprehensive student career transition program entitled, THE CAREER COACH, which has proven to increase completion, placement and job retention performance for numerous career schools. The program has been created in conjunction with several national employers, whose input provides unique insight into what employers are really seeking from candidates. CTL has also partnered with The Pacific Institute, a recognized leader in the career school industry to help promote even greater student and school success in the highly competitive 21st century workplace. THE CAREER COACH® approach is to teach youth participants to systematically evaluate their skills, abilities, and career objectives before accepting any job. More specifically, this motivational program instructs job seekers to structure their goals, follow their instincts, and most importantly, to conduct internal self analysis for the strength and direction to formulate their personal career paths. Through a series of carefully designed modules, participants investigate personal, financial, and emotional needs; then, place these requirements in context with traditional and non-traditional career paths. By utilizing this approach, many individuals overcome previous obstacles, learn to cope with rejection and creatively discover a greater level of job happiness. Participants are educated that they have ultimate responsibility for their career progress, upward mobility, and levels of satisfaction. The systematically designed exercises and examples serve to motivate the job seeker to be more optimistic about their credentials, potential, and subsequent decisions. The overall philosophy is to couple the students' personal strengths and objectives with a targeted occupation. In short, THE CAREER COACH® is a holistic approach to the job search process incorporating two critical themes: (1) to teach job seekers to take responsibility for their own actions and (2) to consider the various life areas (i.e. personal, physical, emotional, mental, social, financial) before solidifying employment.
