After many years of selling Holmen Paper products to the U.S. and North America market through agents, Holmen Paper has established its own representation for this region. In light of the continuous upgrading and expansion of the Holmen Paper's product portfolio, with the new paper machine at Hallsta Paper Mill as a prime example, the world's largest single market will be covered by Holmen Paper's own people in the future. Henry Olsson, former marketing manager at Wargön Mill, took up the position of President of the company on June 1. At the same time responsibility for the marketing and sales of Wargön's products was transferred to Holmen Paper's central marketing department in Norrköping in Sweden. The new company is called Holmen Paper, Inc. and its offices are located in Baltimore, Maryland, about 40 km from Washington, DC. this location offers good transportation possibilities for travel as well as a good infrastructure. Henry Olsson has earlier worked for marketing companies for several years in the USA. Emma Grundström, former indoor salesperson at Holmen Paper Ltd in London, is to start work at the new company. "The reason why we terminated our agency agreement is that we've made a number of long-term agreements for directory paper. At the same time we see promising opportunities, not least for products from the new Paper machine at Hallsta Paper Mill. Against this background, it's reasonable for us to take the step of setting up our own offices in the American market," says Henrik Sjölund, marketing director at Holmen Paper.
