WELCOME TO HAMEL ILLINOIS First established in 1818, the Village of Hamel, Illinois became an incorporated village on February 24, 1955. Throughout the years, residents have seen the town grow with the addition of businesses and residential development. City maintained water and sewer projects have enabled the continued growth of a village which boasts well-paved, quiet streets.
