Trega was founded in 1973 to produce aluminum castings utilizing the permanent mold casting process. Furniture components for the fast food industry and traffic light bases for the city of Philadelphia were produced initially. In 1980 Trega acquired the business of a water well cap producer and subsequently developed a full line of water well caps. These products are marketed through distributors and sold directly to water well contractors. Trega Corporation has formed many long-standing relationships with customers in many markets. Their casting requirements include:explosion proof electrical enclosures hydraulic pump components heat sinks architectural lighting components structural members furniture components.In the late 1980's Trega Corporation improved its mold-making techniques by incorporating CAD/CAM software to improve quality and shorten lead times. By using CNC equipment to machine molds, Trega has been able to:produce more complex molds maintain closer tolerances produce better casting finishes In 1996 the addition of a dedicated CNC machine for secondary operations, allowed Trega to provide customers with fully machined parts. Increasing demand from an expanding customer base, as well as a growing well cap business, over-burdened Trega's existing facility. The company built a larger plant in Hamburg, Pennsylvania and occupied the new facility in October of 1998. With this new plant, dedicated workers and valued customers, Trega Corporation looks forward to another 25 years of quality casting production.
